Home From The Hospital

The day after I was born we got to leave the hospital and head for home. Grandma and Grandpa McNeil were staying at our house to help out with me. They helped take care of me and Mommy, and Grandma helped Mommy to know what to do with her new baby. Mommy said I was a very good baby right from the beginning. I hardly ever cried and that made my first night home very easy for her. The next day she and Grandma gave me my first bath. I loved my first bath and really liked to have my hair washed. It is very curly and looks so cute when I get it wet.

Later that afternoon Grandpa and Grandma had to go back home, and it was just me, Mommy and Daddy. The next day, my grandma Patti and Aunt Lindsay and Avah came to stay. They stayed for the rest of the week and helped out. They were so happy to finally see me and said I was a handsome little man. Grandpa Randy and Uncle Vinny also came for the weekend. I had my first outing to St. George so we could all go out to eat.

Happy Birth Day!

The doctor said my due date was October 5th, so my parents were starting to very get anxious when the day came and I still wasn't born. Two days later on October 7th, my mommy started having contractions in the middle of the night. Early that morning she told daddy it was time to go to the hospital. When they got there, the nurse said she was definitely in labor. Daddy called the whole family and they jumped in their cars and drove to St. George. It took a full day of labor before I was ready to be born, and at 10:51 PM, I came into the world. The doctor laid me on my mommy's chest and said I looked like a very big boy. He was right, I weighed 8 lbs and 13 oz! Everyone was so surprised that I was so big. Mommy said it was the most special moment of her entire life and Daddy was so happy, he had tears in his eyes. Mommy said I had lots and lots of hair, and was the most beautiful little boy she had ever seen.
The other people that were there to greet me were Grandpa and Grandma McNeil, Aunt Billie Jo and Aunt Olivia. Everyone else was in the waiting room, and they were very excited to see me too. Once they got me bundled up in some blankets, Uncle Allen and Aunt Patrice, Uncle Rick and Luke & Noah, and Uncle Tim and Ellie, Tess and Mia all came in to see me. They gave me lots of kisses and said I was so cute.

This is what I looked like right after I was born!

Getting Ready

There were a lot of things to do before I was born. For my nursery, Mommy found a bedding set she loved that had farm animals on it and Daddy started to build a crib. One day when Mommy was at work, Daddy had someone come over and paint the walls with farm animals and tractors. It was a wonderful surprise to Mommy. She loved it and said I was a lucky boy to have such a great daddy.

Lots of our friends and family threw showers and gave us lots of presents. Mommy said we got so many things that she hardly had to buy anything. She said we are very lucky to have so many people that love us so much.

I'm Growing So Much

My mommy said she could start to feel me kick between 18 and 20 weeks. Everytime she felt it, she would hurry and tell Daddy, but I would always stop. Finally one day he felt it, and he loved it! He would always put his hand on Mommy's tummy hoping that I would kick. As I got bigger, I kicked all the time. It became very easy for him to feel and to see my mommy's tummy move.

As I grew bigger, so did my mommy. Here is what she looked like, and here is what I looked like at about 28 weeks.

It's A Boy!

My mommy found out that I was a boy when she was 12 weeks pregnant. At first they didn't know for sure, but within a few weeks they said I was definitely a boy. My daddy was so excited. It made Mommy happy to see him so excited, and she couldn't wait for her little boy to be born. Right away they decided to name me Jack. They said it sounded like such a strong name that they wanted their little boy to have it.

My mommy had doctors appointments every month for the first 8 months. They would listen to my heartbeat and make sure I was growing big and strong. They also checked mommy to see if she was staying healthy too. Mommy and daddy loved to hear my heartbeat and were happy to know I was a healthy boy.

Let's Start A Family

My mommy and daddy decided they wanted to start a family and have a baby. In January 2007, Mommy thought she might be pregnant but she wasn't quite sure. She took a test to see if it was true, and it was! She and daddy could hardly believe they were finally going to start their family.

They were so excited about me that they started planning and preparing the minute they found out. Mommy bought lots of books to read and daddy looked at lots of information on the internet about babies. They wanted to be ready so its a good thing they had nine months to prepare! In March, they decided it was time to tell their families and friends the exciting news. Everyone was so happy for them and couldn't wait to see me.

Mommy works at a hospital and she got pictures of me all the time. Here is one when I was very tiny.

All About Me....

My name is Jack. I was born on October 7th, 2007 at 10:51 PM. I weighed 8 lbs. 13 oz. and was 20 inches long. My mommy's name is Chelsea and my daddy's name is Max. I am their first little baby and they say I'm the joy of their lives! This special book tells all about the time when I was a tiny baby in my mommy's tummy, when I was born, and tells about me growing up. Its all about me!

Jack's Baby Book

Since Jack is the star of our blog, I decided to let him have his own. I've heard that you can get your blog posts printed into a book, so I thought this would be an easy way to make his baby book. This way, I can put as many pictures and personal thoughts about my pregnancy and raising Jack that I want, and not feel quite so sappy for posting them on my own blog! Feel free to visit the site and watch Jack grow!
